Kayleigh

Hello! My name is Kayleigh and I am an avid dog mom looking to enhance my experience with animals and spend time with more furry friends. I am currently a PhD student at Maynooth living with my sheltie, Bella. I hope to one day work as a dog trainer as a career change.

I am a long-time dog owner and have never not had a dog in my life. I have raised three different dogs from puppies and have also adopted dogs who were rehomed for various reasons. I have worked with professional trainers for my and my family's sheepdogs in the past for issues such as trauma, reactivity, puppy training, and general behavior. I do a lot of research in my own time into dog behavior and training methods, and get a lot of practice with Bella. As such, I am happy and able to offer basic positive-reinforcement training on walks with your dog.

That being said, I am not a certified professional and take no responsibility for dogs with serious aggression, fear, or other issues. 

I live in Dublin City Centre in the Liberties area and while I do not have a garden and cannot take dogs into my flat for stays, I am very familiar with all nearby parks and dog-friendly cafes/pubs and business, so walks with me are social, engaging, and full of urban adventure.

I am also happy to come to yours for a walk, play session, check-in, or house-sitting and overnight stays. If your kiddo needs a bath or brushing, I am happy to take over but am not a professional groomer so no haircuts - yikes!

If your dog is lonely, friendly, or needing to expel some energy, Bella is also happy to come along with me to visit your furbaby. She is friendly, exuberant, always ready to run, and especially loves puppies. She is, however, cat-reactive, so if there are cats in your home she would prefer to stay away. 

I am comfortable adminstering medications, socializing dogs in different environments, and helping with puppy and senior minding. 

I have utmost respect for our animal friends and am constantly doing what I can to improve my understanding of how to communicate and work with them. My dog is like my child and I'm sure yours is, too, so I will do whatever I can to make sure your furbaby is well cared for.
