Hi there! My name is Sarah and I am a student vet nurse based in South Dublin. I have worked in animal care for the past five years, including two doggie day cares, a cat boarding facility and a dog rehoming centre. I have vast knowledge and experience in dog training and I am passionate about keeping our four-legged family members as comfortable, safe and happy as possible. I am a big advocate of enrichment activities to encourage our pets to use their brain-power and natural instincts and will implement them into the daily routine when house sitting.
I have grown up rescuing dogs with behavioural issues so I know first hand how important it is to be able to trust that your dog is in safe hands when you are not home. I put a lot of emphasis on making sure your pet is familiar with me before I look after them, and I always make sure to learn the daily routine of the household so that I can provide the best care possible.
I have vast experience with elderly and sick animals. I am studying to become a vet nurse and I have worked with many chronically ill animals who have very specific needs. I am comfortable with administering medications and special diets. I have worked with incontinent dogs, dogs with a limited range of movement, dogs with digestive difficulties, dogs and cats with chronic infections and diabetic cats. I am very conscious of the need for specific and tailored care for animals who are sick and/or elderly. I will go out of my way to make sure that they have everything they need and that they are as comfortable as possible.
I have a full drivers' license and a car so I am willing to travel anywhere within the Greater Dublin Area and I'm happy to take dogs on days out!
There is no task too big or too small when it comes to looking after an animal - they give us so much more than we give them, the least we can do is make sure they are safe and happy!

We think our dog was bummed when she saw us come home through the door and not Sarah.
I cannot recommend Sara enough. We've had such a hard time with our last few (non Pawshake) sitters we were contemplating putting our dog down. Sarah was so good with her and made it very clear that our difficulties were not with our pooch, but with the people.
She is so gentle and aware to our dog's needs, and quickly gained Sophie's complete trust in a matter of minutes.
I just don't want to tell you all how awesome she is because then you'll book her and we won't be able to!
Sarah looked after my two cats, Thor and Loki, while I was out of the country. She asked all the right questions when she first met them, which immediately put my mind at ease. During my absence, she kept me updated daily and even managed to gain Thor's affection, which took me completely by surprise as he's quite a scaredy-cat. I would gladly have Sarah look after the boys again!
