About Ian
I am a life-long dog owner who is enthusiastic about caring for your pet(s)! I have always loved animals and they tend to love me (as you can see from my pictures with friendly strays on archaeological excavations). My family and I have cared for two medium/large dogs throughout my life. I have spent countless hours playing with and walking my current dog, an 11 year old Labrador/German Shepard Mix. I have also pet-sat and walked numerous animals for family members and friends, and have occasionally been contracted. This has included cats and small and large dogs ranging from puppies to elderly animals. As a graduate student at Trinity College, I need money to support my studies. Walking your dog(s) will be an absolute joy for me and would help me achieve my career aspirations! I will be sure to carry water, bags, and treats for your dog(s), if desired.
Schedule: I am available Monday-Wednesday and Friday-Sunday, morning-evening, and will work around your schedule.
Pet Care: I am happy to administer medication to pets and offer training and basic grooming services.
Dog Walking: I will tailor exercise to your pet's needs. For energetic dogs, I will be sure to provide longer walks at a faster pace. For elderly dogs, I will set a more comfortable pace. When possible, I will walk your dog in a public park, as this provides more safety and important sensory stimuli for your pet.
Home Visits / House Sitting: I will remain with your pet beyond the expected time in order meet their needs: since most of my work is remote, a wifi connection is all I need to remain with your pet all day. While in your home, I will happily water plants, bring in the mail, and complete other daily tasks. I will also follow any security measures laid out when I arrive.
