About Louise
Hi there! My name is Louise and I'm a teacher originally from Roscommon but living in Lucan.
I have always loved animals and have had pets in my life from a young age, starting off with cats when I was very little. We still have one cat now, Tom, who is 17 and doing well and making the most of his 9 lives!
We had a gorgeous golden retriever, Goldie, in our family who was with us from when I was aged 8 until I was in my twenties so I spent a lot of time with her and looking after her. She even had puppies that we cared for and successfully homed. When I went to college I would go see her regularly and mind her when my parents were away. Before she passed we got our beloved chocolate Labrador, Rocky, and it was wonderful to have them both together, she was the calming influence to his excitability. Rocky was extremely intelligent and mastered all the little tricks I taught him very quickly and absolutely ADORED the walkies I brought him on.
Unfortunately recently, we lost him too suddenly, to our devastation, but this is what has spurred me on to share the love I have for animals and hopefully bring some of the joy Rocky had for walks and the time I spent with him with minding him to others. I want to give back to the local doggos for all the love and affection mine have given me over the last 20 years.
I also have experience with smaller dogs as family and friend’s have had a terrier, bichon, cavalier and jack russell that I have minded and become good pals with. In my previous accommodation the landlords got a cavachon that grew terribly fond of. I helped train and mind him while they were away on business. I've even informally adopted a local cat in my rental accommodation that has kept me company all through the lockdowns!
In terms of services, as I teacher, my timetable would mean I can easily schedule regular walks during weekday evenings. I get school holidays off, so in addition, I can offer home visits to feed, play with or keep your fur baby company for a while or can also offer in home pet sitting during these times should you need to be away for longer periods of time.
I can drive and have my own car, so I do have some flexibility in the areas I can visit, and can bring dogs to parks for walks or beaches for swims. I can also offer a pick up and drop off service if requested.
I am one of those people who has to befriend any fur baby they come across and think the care and love I have for pets would make me a suitable candidate to mind your pets.
Any questions, feel free to get in touch.
Many thanks, Louise.
